Our Farms
NEC FARM-Katonga Ltd is another NEC subsidiary which started with a ranch situated in Kisozi 90 miles South West of Kampala. The ranch was earmarked by Government to spearhead a cattle fattening project for export-grade beef targeting the world market.
Today, NEC operates two modern farms – NEC Farm Katonga and NEC Farm Kyankwanzi Ltd. The Farms are well advanced with water Supply Facilities, Modern Spray Races & Pasture Development Scheme. The cattle fattening project started with the introduction of 2800 carefully selected young breeds of bulls. We are now implementing the Bull Fattening Project for the Country’s Steady and Consistent Beef Supply.
Farmers will also benefit from the project as they are involved in the supply chain. The project has since directly and indirectly provided over 1000 jobs to both skilled and semi-skilled locals in construction, bush clearing, fencing and other related services. NEC Farm-Katonga is also to provide quality breeds to farmers.
